This month, SNL funnyman Jay Pharoah was among a group honored by The Opportunity Network, a New York City nonprofit that prepares talented, low-income students for college, facilitates paid summer internships and teaches them how to build professional networks.

Entrepreneur caught up with the master of the Denzel Washington impression (watch one of his hilarious SNL appearances here) on The Opportunity Network's red carpet and asked him about the best business advice he's ever received. Turns out fellow SNL superstar Eddie Murphy had a few words of wisdom that have helped shape the way Pharoah has pursued his career in comedy.
