1. Apple takes another step towards launching consumer AR glasses. The tech giant acquired a Denver-based startup Akonia Holographics which manufactures augmented reality waveguide lenses.

2. Elon Musk just can't stay out of trouble. The billionaire recently expressed his surprise on Twitter at not being sued for calling a British diver involved in the Thai Rescue case "pedo'. Well, bad luck Mr Musk, because if he didn't then, he is now!

3. Toyota and Uber unite to leverage self-driving technology. The Japanese auto giant Toyota is reportedly investing $500 million in the car-hailing company, which will take Uber's valuation to $72 billion.

4. Amazon and Alibaba have another competitor. Google has made a strategic investment of $550 million in the ecommerce platform JD.com which currently holds 33 percent of the Chinese market.
